Summer might be winding down a bit, but she definitely isn’t over! There are all manner of fun things to do to keep cool, entertained and enlightened!
Or maybe a little adventure into the Paranormal? Hosted by O.R.B.S., the Dungeon Descent is a nighttime adventure using modern technology to explore the spirit world. You will get a quick education on the equipment O.R.B.S. will be using and then spend the evening exploring the Historic Jail, 1840's Dungeon and Gallows Exhibition Hall. At the end of the night enjoy a pizza party and share your experience! The next event is Friday, August 22 and there are just a few tickets still available!
Not too sure about the Paranormal? How about a Historic Jail Tour instead! The 1 hour and 15 minute Guided Tour includes the 1892 jail with ties to President Rutherford B. Hayes, the 1840's Dungeon located underneath the Sandusky County Courthouse and the Gallows Exhibition Hall featuring the gallows used for the last hanging in Sandusky County. Hear exciting stories while learning the significance of this rare and historic structure. And the best part: Tours are kid friendly! Tickets available at the SCCVB and are only $2 each.
The Jailhouse Rock Dinner Theater is great for all ages! Costumed Staff will greet you at the door where your group will line up for their mugshot and get ready to join the chow line! Enjoy Jailhouse style entertainment while dinner is served right in the cell block; if you are adventurous, enjoy your dinner in one of the cells! Follow it up with a story-filled tour by your own inmate! Don't forget your camera or your souvenir fingerprint card. It's a jailhouse rockin' good time! Tickets are $20 each and each dinner theater is limited to 30 persons. Reservations are required.
It is also that time of year for a little Fair Adventure. The Sandusky County Fair will be open August 19 and run through the 24th. There are lots of activities planned this year and it is always amazing to see the kids and their animals!
So don’t pack those lawn chairs up just yet; there is plenty to do before the kids go back to school!
